arts centre Verkadefabriek 's-Hertogenbosch

A former biscuit factory in brick and concrete was transformed into a centre for the performing arts and film. A large, new atrium connects the grand café, designed by Piet Hein Eek, with the offices and rehearsal rooms above. A spaciously-designed, cruciform system of passageways connects the various auditoriums and rooms in the complex. These oversized passageways or circulation routes also provide space for meeting and socialising.
